Keeping The Cold Away.

Yes, it’s Winter and I just have to get used to it.  A lot of the trees around here have signs of Spring with their pretty blossom, but the wind, rain and low temps are keeping us well rugged up.

This quilt top is definitely aimed at Summer. It is made with a selection of beach fabrics and I have crab fabric for the backing.

I am starting to accumulate a few tops so I need to do some quilting and binding to catch up.

I have enjoyed a little time lately doing some knitting. I do enjoy little baby jumpers as they come together very quickly.

Hope these are warm and snuggly.

And just for fun, I made a few of these.

I do hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.

I am looking to make a wall quilt using only HSTs … similar to the quilt you posted about here: http://sunburntquilts.com.au/quilts/blue-and-white-triangles/ I’m curious … what sized HSTs did you use?

    Hi Karen,
You’ve been a busy little beaver, lots of sewing and knitting going on. Love the little jumpbers, some special little person is going to be snug in them. I know Spring is just around the corner but today we have heavy rain and very cold. Roll on Spring!
    Regards, Anita.

  • You’ve been busy, Karen! I love the quilt top and sweaters (and little peek of Califon in the background!). Today we have a cool day and the hot temps of summer are sort of fading away. I am ready!

That’s a lovely summer quilt! Love the small jumpers and bibs. I used to knit a lot when living in Norway, but here I don’t really need any knitted clothes, except socks for the ‘winter’. I must confess I have a few knitting UFO’s though… :)

Wonderful Twister Quilt – I seem some Going Coastal in there! The bibs and sweaters are so cute!

  • That quilt top is so pretty, and it DOES look like summer. I’m so impressed with your knitting. I’ve never mastered that one. And the baby bibs are pure cuteness!

Those little sweaters are precious, Karen! That looks like a lot of work. The quilt is sweet, the red polka dot border drew me in ~

Oh so cute baby jumpers. They are going to keep some “Grands” snuggy and warm! Love your summer quilt. It will help you get thru the cold days of winter, to dream about the beach! :-)

I spied an Aussie bib there with the kangaroos and koala’s!! :-)
