Colourful Pinwheels.

Another top has turned into a a completed quilt. The last stitch has gone into the binding and it is ready.
The quilt is made of pinwheel blocks, each block using two fabrics.
The fabrics came as a charm pack with the addition of a single piece to use in the border.
There was even enough to make the corner stones.
I did have to add another fabric for the sashing so kept that neutral.
And I had to hunt up another stray piece for the binding.
I was able to stick to using my stash as I had a big colourful piece to use as the backing.
I kept the quilting basic – flowers and loops. That made sense as nearly all the fabrics had floral designs.
One bonus from the lockdowns we had last year was that I have been making the most of the fabrics I already have. I am trying to keep going with that approach. I know that there will be pieces to buy, but I am happy to try.
And not having a local quilt store any more does stop the temptation.
Time to move on to the next quilt!
Cheers, Karen
I love pinwheels and the fabrics in this one are so fun. Nothing can perk up a cold gray winter day like this will!
What a wonderful quilt!!! Isn’t it fun when you can use fabrics that you already have and not have to buy more!!! AND, I LOVE the backing fabric….so bright and fun!!
Love your scrappy quilt! Doesn’t it feel good using up bits and pieces? Since the first lockdown last year, most of the fabric I’ve bought online is fabric, batting and thread I needed to finish some quilts.
Oh so colorful and fun!!! Love that you’re finding what you need in your own quilt shop, AKA–personal collection! Great quilting, too!
It’s such a happy quilt Karen! And pinwheels are always fun to make! And busting the stash always feels good!
Lovely happy quilt and I love the quilting…. so many of us have enjoyed digging into our already existing stash… soon we will have a good reason to replenish our supplies…

Those are the most colorful pinwheels I’ve ever seen. Making do with the fabric has actually been a great experience. You’ve created fun quilts.
