A Snowman Quilt Top.

At the very end of last year I was extremely lucky to win some beautifully embroidered blocks. They are a collection of snowmen, reindeer and Christmas trees.
The beautiful stitching was done by Pauline of Quilt n Queen. Pauline does the most amazing stitching. She generously had a give away last year of eight of these blocks that used designs from Bird Brain Designs. This particular pattern is Snowmen and Reindeer blue work.
So over time this year I have been putting together a collection of blue fabrics to use in a quilt for these stitcheries.
This quilt top is the end result.
I used the same fabric to frame each block. It has an ice crystal look about it.
Here are some of the blue fabrics.
The pattern I have used is called Perfect Ten and is from Swirly Girls Design.
I am planning to free motion quilt this with lots of loops and swirls and stars.
I am really pleased with the collection of blue fabrics and love the way the embroidered blocks stand out in the quilt top.
Once again, a huge thank you to Pauline for these amazing stitcheries. Pay her a visit and see the rest of her wonderful work.
Gorgeous! I love the blues and the stitcheries together!
The blue work is lovely!! I love the way you put it together.
Wow, stunning! I’d love to make one of these one day
I just popped over from the houseonthehill. I love your work so I had to join up!
Hello Karen,
Wow, love the fabric you have chosen to compliment the stitcheries. Happy quilting.

Who’s the lucky girl then? What a lovely collection of stitcheries and I bet you had fun making the quilt. Looks stunning. Hugs, Anita.
Hey I remember when you won those adorable blocks. You sure have done them justice. The pattern you choose and the quilting you have planned is perfect. I am sure Pauline will be thrilled with what you have done with her embroideries!
Oh Karen! This turned out great! It’s really pretty.
Thank you for your kind words. Your fabrics are wonderful….the quilt is awesome. I’ve made 4 quilts using the lap size directions from ‘Yellow Brick Road’ pattern. I just added 1 additional block to each row. A few weeks ago I bought the ‘Perfect Ten’ pattern specifically to make 2 more ‘Snowmen and Reindeer’ quilts. We do think alike!! This past year we had 3 weddings to go to and they all got quilts….2 were the ‘Snowmen and Reindeer’ quilts. I think I’m going to make a red and white one next. Your stitcheries are awesome too!!
What a beautiful quilt. Your fabric choices are so wintery and beautiful.
LOL I love the faces of the snowmen and the reindeer, just too cute. I already stalk Pauline she does some lovely work…but so do you!!
What a gorgeous quilt top! I love it. The blue fabrics you’ve chosen are just perfect and how sweet are those snowmen!
Lovely stitcheries and you are so clever to make up all those blocks and colours to go with it…
Hugz
