Califon Is Complete.

Several positives to report. My machine is back, working and happy.
And so am I.
And as a result I was able to sew the binding on my Califon quilt and hand stitch it down overnight.
My LAQ was incredibly fast and had it back to me in a couple of weeks.
I chose a continuous pattern with loads of swirls as so many of the fabrics in the quilt had swirling patterns in them.
There was a striped fabric in the range with some orange in it, so I used that for the binding.
Today was the perfect day with the sunshine to be outside taking photos. I know I have to make the most of it as we are having typical Spring weather with plenty of showers.
I do love a good finish!
On a different note, I did try the idea of using the owl punch on some fabric with a stabilizer backing. No good. I tried a couple of different ways but still had no success. Did manage to jam up the punch but a little jiggling around sorted that out too.
What a beautiful quilt. The quilting is beautiful. I love it!
It’s great to have your machine back – how stressful to be without it! Your quilt looks fabulous – and good choice with the quilting… looks perfect for a picnic!
Karen, I just came to visit from your comment on my blog to put “a face with a name” and was happily surprised to see that this is you!!! I saw this quilt in my reader yesterday and loved it, but didn’t take the time to comment then (as I didn’t have the time!!!) But it is a fabulous finish. I especially love the pattern you put together and the quilting!! The swirls really compliment the squares. :) Hugs!
Gorgeous quilt just love the quilting..

I am sure if I did that it wouldn’t be half as neat. I need to get and experiment.

Yeah a fixed and returned machine, what can be better than that! We are sure lost without the darn things anymore aren’t we? :-)

Karen that quilt is beautiful, I just love it, and the quilting is perfect for it. Now what I want to know is…was it the punch that had a little jiggle or you!?!?!?! xx
Karen, You must be so happy with the end result.

What a great quilt! Every part just goes together with every other part perfectly. Sorry about the owl punch. Sometimes the very best ideas just don’t work. Bummer.
