Catching Up On June.

NB. My blog issues re following seem to have been sorted out. If you wish to follow please use the follow by email directions near the comment section (not the RSS feed at the top of this page – that is not working.) My blog is also now showing up in blog readers again so can be added back there again. Sorry for all the problems. I will put this notice at the top of my next few posts as a a reminder.
Time to get in a quick post for June. I have been busy with a lot of sewing activities, but none worthy of posting. Plenty of cutting and preparation and lots of projects at the halfway mark. It has turned very cold here so lots of inside time for sewing.
Here are a couple of small finishes – a couple of Marg Low felt decorations.
I have also started a McKenna Ryan quilt – Chrissy Down Under.. Two blocks done so far.
This is going to be a very long term project. The first two blocks are a mixed bag. I like the end result of Santa and the animals at the beach. The fabrics work well in the design.
However, the other block with the Tassie Devil bothers me as there is no definition on the devil. You can’t see his arms being held in front of him. I think I will need to stitch over them in a different colour. I have held off on the eyes and nose until I decide what to do.
My husband has been busy again knitting a jacket for our 2yo grand daughter with his spun wool. It looks lovely and is so warm.
We have been enjoying a few Melbourne activities lately. I had a Tiger Moth flight over Melbourne. We have been to the Eureka Skydeck on the 88th floor with our grandchildren and we are going to go on the big wheel next week. It seems every activity is associated with height and views.
I hope your week is going well.
Cheers, Karen
Gorgeous decorations!! Your Aussie Christmas quilt is going to be such fun. I love that your husband is knitting a jacket with wool he has spun!! How wonderful you went in a Tiger Moth.I bet it was an exciting experience. Mr Daisy had a flight last year and loved it. I was happy watching from the ground. :)
