Triangles Abound.

It is time for me to get a few quilts finished. Quite a few tops are done but of course they need sandwiching and quilting. I decided to start with the biggest one first.
This one ended up at 65 X 86 (inches). It is made from half square triangles made from a range of fabric packs including some batiks.
Then I had the crazy idea to quilt it myself. I usually get ones this size done by someone with a long arm machine, but lock down has limited that. So, no other choice but do it myself.
I started with straight lines each side of every seam.
And then I jumped in with lots of pebble quilting in the paler blue rounds, as well as the centre.
The backing was a fabric from a collection by Rosalie Quinlan.
The binding was a batik.
The quilt is a gift but I tried it out on one of our beds for a few photos.
I was pleased with the fabric mix in the packs and how well they worked together. Sad to say that I think these were sitting on my shelves for over ten years. Glad they have now turned into a special quilt.
Now I have to wait to see how long it will be until I can deliver it in person.
Looking forward to a good week ahead. I hope you are, too.
Cheers, Karen

Great plan, Karen–start with the biggest one first! That’s a lot of pebbles!!! Great job quilting it yourself! Beautiful accomplishment!!!
Your quilt looks great Karen.
Wow, that pebble quilting looks intense Karen! And lots of thread ends to bury? You’ve done a wonderful job of the quilting. I’m sure it will be loved when you finally get out to gift it!
Wow! What a beauty. I love the way you have quilted it. Such pretty colours. Will you gift it to me? Please? LOL
Yeah! For getting this beautiful quilt finished. The colors are soothing and the straight line and pebbled quilting make a great contrast
gorgeous and your quilting really complements the design. Well done!!
Very effective quilt, and I am so impressed with your quilting. It is hard to quilt a large quilt, even on the longarm for me. And you have done a masterful job!
Doesn’t it feel so good to finally use those fabrics! And a lovely result too.
oh Karen…I just love the quilting. It’s so simple yet SO very effective. I will remember this one. The fabric & colours are very pretty too.
Nice work all round…xox
The quilt is lovely Karen and the quilting just perfect for it…. you have mastered those pebbles….
