Sweet Baby Stripes.

No co-operation from the weather today so some of the photos are a little dull. But they still show how the quilt looks.

It does look very sad and sorry in this photo. Hopefully the close ups give a better impression.

This quilt is made with two and a half inch strips. Most are from a jelly roll I used in another quilt. I added white strips to give some contrast.

The colours are lovely baby pastel shades mixed in with some brights.

I used a serpentine stitch for the quilting.

I love the fabric on the back. Couldn’t resist it when I saw it.

It is a very soft flannel with super cute giraffes.

This pic probably gives a better idea of the quilting.

I found a lovely stripe for the binding that matched the quilt colours.

I managed to sandwich four quilts last week as planned and this one was the smallest. So I still have 3 more to quilt.

Good thing it is raining outside so I can stay in and sew.

I hope you have a good excuse to stay in and sew, also.

Cheers, Karen

I love everything about this quilt , the simplicity, the colours, the sweet backing and the serpentine quilting adds a wonderful texture.

  • What a darling quilt! I don’t know what’s best–the colors, the stitch, the backing, the binding–they all work beautifully together. My excuse to stay in and sew? I have laryngitis and don’t want to spread it around. So everyone else is outside enjoying fabulous weather (and avoiding my virus) while I’m cozily enjoying the quiet.

  • It looks like a perfect baby quilt to me. Flannel makes such a cozy backing and that one is such a great match to the front.

what a sweet quilt and the wiggly quilting is perfect. That backing is just right for a quilt I want to do – where was it from?

All very pretty Karen- the strips, the quilting, the soft flannelette backing and the bright green binding! The weather was not very co-operative for photos yesterday, was it? Gosh, it got cold last night! I am OVER this weather!

We can still see the lovely colours of the fabrics, they are groovy girl. So your weather is playing up again hey? It gives you a good reason to stay inside though lol. Here in the west, we’ve finally had some warm weather but you never know when it’s going to change. Happy sewing.
