Searching For Sunshine.

Not a lot of sunshine here, so it’s a bit tricky finding the right place and time to take photos.
I managed to finish my froggy quilt and get the binding done.
I kept to simple quilting over the whole quilt.
But used some lovely variegated thread to add interest.
I have also been using up a lot of leftover bits and pieces in these star blocks.
The pattern is a block from Bonnie Hunter called Boxy Stars. There are a dozen blocks completed and at least another eight on the way.
I had a play with some different crochet stitches with this square. Hope to see it grow as the weeks go by.
I plan to take a break from posting for the next few weeks as I really am heading off to find some sunshine. The northern hemisphere is definitely calling. I will enjoy reading posts but know that I will have limited time to post or comment until I return.
Have a wonderful August.
Cheers, Karen
Well, I see that google is up to it’s old tricks again. Your feed is not coming up with my favorites! Once again, I am way behind in posting a comment, but I have to tell you, your little froggy quilt is just too adorable! Have a wonderful time visiting! ;-)
Great finish…I have a froggy quilt that is in my UFO pile. Love your scrappy stars!! Enjoy your family and the sun!! Hugs, pauline
It’s just adorable. Good choice with the blue/green thread ; )
Enjoy your August. I’ve enjoyed my month of July away from technology immensely.
See you soon
Not sure whether you will see this, but have a wonderful time in the sun and warmth! Love the Boxy Stars!
I like your froggy quilt! It is just perfect, and those boxy stars are calling my name. Looks like another good one for the USO. Have a good time getting warm and sunned! I would be more than happy to share some of ours with you. ;)
What a fun froggy quilt, and I love your crochet piece. Havre fun in the sun and wonderful times with your family.
I love your froggy quilt and the quilting is perfect… it looks a bit watery? the star blocks are great too… enjoy some sunshine…
Hugz
Meant to say enjoy your sunshine break! I hope you warm up or come to Louisiana if you need a little more heat. :-)
Froggy is just darling. I used a large stipple on a memory quilt–it was so relaxing to just enjoy the process and not stress over designs. That little square is adorable. I love the three dimensional flower. Very pretty!
Your froggies are cute!! Do you have a long-arm machine or are you quilting on a sewing machine? I can never get the bigger patterns to look good with my home machine….I have to draw them on first!! Enjoy your trip and definitely be prepared for WARM (ie HOT) weather!!!
