Autumn Has Arrived.

Our tree out the front has been keeping a calendar and decided that on the first day of March it would start changing colours. It is still a very young Crimson or Scarlet Oak. This is what it looked like a week ago.
It has become a much deeper red and this is the colour today.
It will interesting to watch to see how deep the color goes before the leaves fall.
I have been working away on my woollen flowers. They are now ready to go together.
I have completed the stitching on all the corner stones so it is now a matter of cutting the sashing and borders to get it ready to go together.
We managed to get away for a week and went to the western end of the Great Ocean Road, staying at Port Fairy and Port Campbell. We stayed at the Gardens van park in P Fairy and it was lovely seeing these stunning wood carvings. There are quite a few throughout the park.
And of course we went to all the tourist attractions along the coast. We enjoy the views every time.
We are lucky to have such stunning scenery on our doorstep. And the bonus was that because of Covid and being cooler weather, there were very few people around. Perfect views.
Speaking of Covid, I do like it when our government departments can use a little bit of humour to get an important message across. This had to be one of my favourite signs.
You may also notice that on the sign there is one extra rocky outcrop compared to my photo above. Yes, it collapsed a few years back. ( The Twelve Apostles.)
Well, that’s it from me. It has started raining here and I must say that is very welcome. The tank we use to water the garden is empty and this should help fill it up some way.
Hope your weekend is going well.
Cheers, Karen
I’m officially jealous of your gorgeous beach photos. Being landlocked has it’s downfalls when you love the ocean. LOL!! That whale carving is gorgeous!
Yes autumn has arrived here in Australia….but I wish someone would tell Mr Sunshine and Mr Heat that they don’t have to be so warm here in the west. lol. We are still having hot days and I want them to cool down. I love your flowers, they’re so pretty. The signs about covid are funny, Australians have a wicked sense of humour. lol Have a beautiful week ahead. x
The G.O.R. certainly has some spectacular views doesn’t it… and lovely WOOL work too…xox
You do have some beautiful scenery to enjoy! I really like your tree, too. We seldom have foliage that colorful here. Your woolen flowers are looking good, too! Can’t wait to see the final on that one.
Lovely post…Oak tree and ocean views. Happy
Your woollen flowers are so cute with the hand stitching and all! That wood carving is so large! And just sitting out in the elements? Love the red leaf photos and the ocean views! The water is such a pretty color!
What a beautiful place to spend some time away from home. I love your woolen flowers. The colors are wonderful. Fall may be coming your way. But a winter/spring is heading my way. It does make for good sewing weather.
Your tree is lovely with the colour change – such a gorgeous colour…. I do love all the flowers you have sewn.. so much detail in all of them. Such beautiful pictures I hope to one day get there again ….
