A Cast Of Hundreds.

Yes, hundreds, but not thousands. I have been collecting fabrics for this quilt for several years. Mostly my fabrics but also some from nearby friends and also bloggy friends. ( See if you can find yours, Susan.)
I started out thinking I would make a low volume quilt and started collecting and cutting my 3 1/2 squares and put them into a box.
But then I added more that were a novelty value.
There were more that fit into the I-Spy category.
And so in the end it grew into a collection of squares.
So it goes to show that I can’t stick to low volume, even if I tried.
I backed the quilt with text fabric, then used a stripe for the binding.
I quilted in straight lines making a chevron pattern starting at each side and returning from the centre. I quite like the result where no quilting lines cross.
The end result is using hundreds of different fabrics in one quilt. A lot of cutting but worth the effort.
It ended up at 60 X 60 inches.
Cheers, Karen
Love it! So pretty!
Such a delightful quilt, subtly LV with interest! Lots to look at, and the binding is perfect.
Love a scrappy quilt especially if friends have contributed as well. It looks wonderful xx
Thats a fabulous quilt Karen…

What an adorable quilt, Karen!!! Brilliant simple quilting and great last touch on the binding! Love the text backing, too. Let me know when you need squares for your next quilt adventure!!!
