Butterfly Cards.

Just for something different, I sat down to catch up on my card making. I like to keep a little stockpile but have not kept up of late. I need to make quite a few more.
I like to try out a design in several different colourways. These all use SU papers.
Emerson.

Time to join in the picnic again with Melody over at The House On The Side Of The Hill. Take a visit there to see who else will be at the picnic. I am delighted to have the internet back and be able to join in again!
Emerson is a little bear that was given to me by the children in my class many years ago. We were travelling to the USA and he came with us. He appeared in many photos that were sent back to the class so they could follow our travels.
I have also included some of my favourite bear books. The stories of Corduroy were well loved by our children when they were little. I hope to share them with our grandchildren, too.
Little Stitches.

Lovely to be back. I really missed being able to check in on all that has been happening.
Really disappointed with the lack of service from Telstra – phone still not sorted out after 11 days!
I have been making the most of my time with quilts and embroideries. I decided to get on the band wagon and start the stitcheries by Natalie Bird of The Birdhouse in her book, Tis The Season. They are gorgeous little stitcheries and very quick and easy to complete.
I have chosen to use a Cottage Garden thread called Running Postman ( love that!). It varies in colour from a pinkish red through to a pinkish brown. I have also strayed from the colours in the sample. I am looking at including greens and having a red to match the thread.
I have also been trying out a different type of needle. I have always used an embroidery needle but recently have been encouraged to try a longer quilt basting needle. After only a short while I have found it very easy to use and it seems to give me a lot more control over my stitches. It doesn’t suit everyone but I am always prepared to try new ideas and see for myself.
Apologies.

Sorry that I have not replied or listed comments. A Telstra cable in the area has been damaged and we are told it will not be repaired for at least a week. No landline. No internet! I have had to resort to sitting in Maccas just to have a quick catch up. I will be back on deck as soon as repairs are made. Thanks.
A Few More Rabbits.

We all know that rabbits multiply easily so it should be of no surprise that there are more of them here.
This one is still a favourite from the Easter copy of Homespun from last year.
More playing with felt. These are made with a free pattern from Purl Bee.
…………… Easter Bunny can’t be far away!
Playing With Eggs.

Just playing with felt to make a few eggs……. and thinking of Easter.
Dressed And Ready To Go!

These little bunnies now have their outfits and are ready to go to the picnic that has been organised by Melody at The House On The Side Of The Hill. They are hoping there will be an Easter Egg hunt and few games to play in the sunshine. You can visit Melody to see who is there, too. Wonder if the real Easter Bunny will join us?
Christmas Trio.

I like the idea of trying to do Christmas projects early in the year so there isn’t a mad rush at the end. But, like many others, this plan does not always work. This little embroidery was started last year but never quite made it in time for December 25. So if I finish it now, I can aim for next Christmas instead.
I have to make a decision as to finishing it. Do I frame it or turn it into a wall hanging?? Both would work!

Raggedy Friends.

I am still trying to catch up and finish bits and pieces. When I sorted the last few tubs into my IKEA shelves I did find a couple more stitched items ready for just a finishing touch. There are very few tubs left to unpack now so hopefully I have found just about everything left to do. Hmmm ….. I know I don’t sound totally convincing. It’s just that you can never remember where absolutely everything has been stored!
This stitchery is called Raggedy Friends and is from Plum Creek Collectibles. I have found a frame to suit it made out of old fence timber. It needs a paint and then will be ready to use. Hopefully I can add it to the wall with the other recently framed embroideries.
Pinks and Blues.

This was an easy quilt to make. I simply used several charm packs and a little bit of pink for the skinny inside border. I have had the fabric for a while and can’t remember the name.
I like the colours and designs in the fabrics. They have a fresh Spring feel to them.
And a close up of the back and the quilting – simple meandering.
I am planning on enjoying the day at The Australasian Quilt Show at the Royal Exhibition Buildings in Carlton, Melbourne.
