The Wool Theme Continues.

I may as well make the most of working with wool while the temps stay low. Spring has given us some lovely days but it is not getting hot anytime soon.

I have added to my baby gift supply with a couple of sleeping rabbits.

The design is by Twins Knitting Patterns, the same designer as the monkey in the previous post. Great patterns to use and easy to follow.

I think I have enough of these done for the moment.

I have finished the first panel of the Wendy Williams quilt called Over The Hill. Each panel is made up of six blocks and all have curved piecing.

I am using wool felt and perle cottons.

Lots of lovely colour. I have also pieced the next panel and am ready to start cutting the applique pieces.

I am enjoying playing with the fabrics. In the new panel I have used beach chairs, umbrellas, crabs and turtles. This is the beach panel so the fabrics go with the theme.

I used a bee fabric in the previous panel – under the tree.

Plenty of stitching waiting to be done. It was announced today that we have three more weeks of lock down for the metropolitan area. That is a week sooner than planned as our infection numbers are dropping quicker than expected. Great news.

Have a lovely week.

Cheers, Karen

Those little bunnies are so darn cute, just like their monkey friends! Your Over the Hill quilt is gorgeous. It looked familiar to me, so I went and checked…sure enough the Quilt Show is doing a version of Wendy’s quilt as their BOM next year. I have had my eye on it, and just might have to take the plunge.

  • Your bunnies are so cute. It makes me wish that I could knit!!!

I love the curves. Are you finding the piecing hard to do???

Your work is beautiful Karen!! I love the bunnies (will have to look out that designer!). And Over the Hill is looking great – I do like how you are using the fabrics within your panels. Great news about your shortened lock down :-)

  • Maybe the title of that BOM should be circle mania! Whew! I don’t mind circles, but I do have a limit. The rabbits are too sweet. You have a complete menagerie don’t you? I saw monkeys, bears and rabbits (oh my!) in two posts alone. (I’m always catching up, aren’t I?) Have a great week!

  • love your little bunnies and your wendy williams project!
The pieced backgrounds look great and the applique is fantastic.

I really love the Wendy Williams quilt is looking! The curved piecing reminds me of my Halo quilt. And the felt work is reminiscent of the Christmas Tree quilt I made a few years back! All those little felt circles must take a lot of work and patience! They’re really beautiful!

  • Those bunnies are adorable! And your new project is going to be lovely. Hope numbers continue to drop and you are able to enjoy a few more freedoms really soon x

You seem to he making the most of your lock down time with all your stitching and knitting those cute little bunnies. Hoping your numbers continue to drop, and stay that way. Luckily we all seem to have plenty of lovely projects to keep us busy at home.

  • LOVE those rabbits, and your Over the Hill is shaping up to be another beauty. Glad you’ll soon be out of lockdown. We’re all ready for that!

  • Good news on lockdown, I imagine it is hard to stay inside as your weather warms. Lovely projects and the rabbits are so cute.
