Steady Progress On Small Items.

After the quilt marathon it has been good to get back to some smaller projects.
I have managed to complete another four of the houses from Homegrown.
Mine are not always true to the original design. I have added different colours and fabrics, sometimes different stitches and even a ribbon or two. But the essential design is still there.
I have also made some progress on my giraffe embroidery. Slow and steady with this one.
Obviously still a long way to go.
Spring is a delightful time in the garden when the sun is shining.
The dark coloured orchids bloomed in July and August and now the lighter coloured ones are opening.
Some granny bonnets or aquilegias are opening.
And there are even a few sweet peas flowering. I planted these miniature ones in a hanging pot.
School heads back tomorrow so a lot of our normal routines will return. I have enjoyed the quieter week or two.
Cheers, Karen

I definitely have orchid envy seeing your beautiful blooms.
I love all the detail in the houses and as for your giraffe, how gorgeous is that? Your orchids look just lovely (I have no luck with them)

I have the biggest smile looking at your houses. They are just SO sweet! The giraffe is really looking good, too. Your flowers are making me fight off envy. Gorgeous! We’re still in recovery mode here.

The giraffe embroidery looks really interesting Karen. I’m trying to workout how you are creating those orange background colours? And look at your orchids flourishing! So beautiful!

There is a lot of stitching in your little houses, they look great. As does the partial giraffe, is this quite a big piece?
Such cute details on your house blocks, Karen! Rick rack and square leaves! Fun! How big is your giraffe? So green and floral there. Nice!
Lovely to see your houses. Your orchids are stunning.
