Another Christmas Finish.

Finishing a quilt is easy when they are smaller wall hangings. I was able to quilt this one in no time and then finish off the binding in the morning.
This is the one by Natalie Bird of Birdhouse Designs called Christmas Blessings. I showed it recently as a flimsy.
Thankfully it is not that wobbly at the top – that’s from the ridges on the garage wall.
I quilted around each of the blocks and criss-crossed the hourglass blocks. Then, just like the Bertie quilt, I did a simple meander around the applique.
I found a fun fabric to use on the back at Spotlight, of all places.
And the red and white for the binding.
They are such cute little snowies.
The only thing left to do is add the star to the tree and it is ready to go.
We are just back from a lovely three days at Bright in the Alpine region of Victoria. We did okay with 2 sunny days out of 3. The town is looking very pretty with all the Spring blossom. The surrounding countryside is also lush and green from all the recent rain. Many of the rivers were up quite high but no major flooding at this stage. The rain this week may change that.
I have quite a few days blog reading to catch up on. Have a great week.
Cheers, Karen
Such an adorable quilt–and the backing is perfect for it–fun!!
When Santa comes down the chimney at your house this year he’s going to stop for a while to admire all your beautiful Christmas quilts and decorations. This one is just so lovely. Such a happy festive quilt. I love the use of grey as the neutral.
Oh my! The finished quilt is so adorable! That backing is just perfect for the quilt, but your quilting is the thing that it needed. Love, love it!
How pretty! You do make the very nicest things and I always enjoy seeing what you’ve done.
That really is just the cutest thing! It’s true…quilting makes the quilt. It was adorable as a flimsy, but now it’s just over the top fabulous!
I love how your quilt has come up with the quilting and wonderful backing find. Great to hear you had a lovely few days away
