Simple And Sweet.

Most of the quilts and embroideries I am working on at the moment are taking quite a while due to the size/ quantity/ difficulty involved. I think I just needed a change of pace so I chose something quick and easy to make.
On a recent visit to Spotlight I saw the owl and leaf fabric and was sucked right in. I did only buy a fat quarter of each in blue and pink. I hunted through my stash at home and found some bits and pieces to match.
I worked on the blue first, made a plan using 6 inch squares and put together some rows.
At this stage I have just spread the rows out on the design bed to check how the inner and outer borders look.
I am hoping to make several of these as donation quilts. Quick to make, good use of my stash and a chance to practise my FMQ. Good value all round.
Karen,
It’s super to hear from you. I love love love your owl-ish quilt. The colors are too adorable!
Looks great, and the owls will surely bring a smile to someones face! I need to get busy and bust some stash myself.
Sometimes the simple and sweet end up being the prettiest. I love squares! I love how they showcase the fabric.
Cute fabrics!! Sometimes you really need to just sew a quick project! This looks wonderful!!
what a great idea,i bought the same fq’s as well
Love that little owl, no wonder you fell in love with it. x
