We are enjoying a lovely long Labour Day weekend here and the weather is treating us very kindly. Beautiful sunshine and warm days.
I have managed a little sewing and have finished the Southern Jewels quilt top. It’s a very simple pattern but is designed well to showcase Leesa Chandler‘s gorgeous fabrics.
I made the most of the lovely weather for a photo outside.
On one of the cooler days I was playing with some felt. This little Christmas pillow isĀ a pattern from Bird Brain Designs. Very quick and easy to make.
I have also started embroidering a new blanket. This is the progress so far.
Cooler evenings make it pleasant to work with a woollen blanket again.
Looking forward to a good week ahead.
Love your quilt top, gorgeous fabrics! Cute little pillow. Lovely embroidery on the wool. Do you have a pattern for it, or do you do freehand (?) embroidery?
Hello Karen,
Wow , love the embroidery on the wool.
Good luck with all your projects.
happy days.

Karen, you are one busy lady! The quilt is gorgeous – the butterflies just glow, and the pillow will be a great Christmas decoration. Your embroidery on the blanket is really pretty, too. I’m looking forward to seeing the finish of that one.
Such pretty projects, Karen! The fabric in your quilt is shown off perfectly. I like the jingle bell pillow, too, will it be an ornament, or a pincushion? All so nice~
:-}pokey

Oh your quilt is really pretty. Hugs
I love the Southern Jewels design. It is a great way to showcase larger print fabrics. I have a few that I need to use it with!!!
The Southern Jewels quilt is beautiful Karen…beautifully showcased with that gorgeous blue sky in the background. Cute Bird Brain pattern…I must try working with wool…I keep saying that and I do have a few small kits and a small wool stash, just haven’t taken the plunge. There is no excuse. Luv the woolen blanket, I could see myself embroidering one of those. How do you do the marking? Have a wonderful week!
