A Baby Quilt.

Lots of babies are on the way for friends in the form of grandchildren. So a few little quilts will be needed as gifts. I thought it would be easier to make several at once. So this is the first one.
This is an Amy Bradley panel from way back. It was simply waiting for the right time. I kept it easy by adding a thin green inner border and then the striped outside border.
I kept the quilting simple but made sure it would stand up to a good wash in the machine and then a turn in the dryer. I know most quilts are now used as play mats, so they have to handle regular washing.
The striped border was from the same range as the panel. And I has more of the range for the backing. Surprising what is hiding in the stash.
Purple was the right colour for the binding, again from stash.
Quilting consisted of straight line, meandering and outlining.
That’s one down and a couple more to go.
It is great to use up favourite fabrics and make something special to give.
Back to the sewing machine. Cheers, Karen
The borders and binding really spice it all up!!!
Your stash came up trumps with fabric for the quilt, Karen. Such a cute quilt for a baby and it looks like it will stand up well to the wear and tear of baby life!
Such a cute panel, you made it in to a beautiful quilt.
Keeping it cute and simple is the way to go. It will be a delightful gift
So cute!
Adorable baby quilt Karen! So cute, and it will make the perfect gift to the baby.
Such a sweet little quilt Karen! Yes, quilts are more often used as playmats, aren’t they? As long they are used, we don’t mind, do we? Happy sewing!
That is such a cute quilt….

What a lovely little panel, this little baby quilt turned out great! And it’s always nice to find everything you need in the stash, top, backing, binding. As you say, sometimes things are tucked away, just waiting to be found again, and used.
Hi Karen wow this is such a cute quilt and will make a wonderful and useful gift, well done my friend
