Sunburnt Quilts

Quilts, Patchwork & Embroidery

Catching Up On Spring.

With house guests for nearly two months I have not had a lot of opportunity to sew or blog. I looked back and realised posts were at least a month apart. Just shows how busy it gets. No complaints, just an observation.

Little has been done as far as quilts go, but hopefully I can get back to that now. I have, however, been able to keep the knitting going. Two projects completed for one grandie.

I had made this pattern once before as a three colour combination. Then Raewyn reminded me of how good it looked as one colour, too. So this is the result.

I also managed to finish this hoodie type jacket in a multi-coloured yarn.

It was in use straight away.

I had been given a kit for a small pouch with embroidery on the side. It is a design by Kasia Jacquot..

Most of the stitching is done with 6 strands of thread. Sometimes all one colour, other times a mix of colours. It gives an interesting result. But it definitely moves quickly.

We are finally starting to get a few warmer days. As a result the garden is taking off and it is always lovely to see the first blossoms on the fruit trees.

Time to get back to some stitching. Have a wonderful weekend.

Cheers, Karen

Your sweaters (jumpers) are beautiful and they were put right into action. It’s nice to change up what needlework we do. The embroidery is lovely. Happy spring.

Knitting is the perfect activity for family time and your creations are lovely! And obviously much appreciated. And I love the embroidery too. I have hopes of doing something like that! The orange linen is gorgeous! Are you using a hoop to keep the tension even in your stitches? Happy sewing and happy Spring!

That blue sweater is gorgeous. What is the pattern? I know you are so glad to see spring returning, as much as we are happy for the fall change here. This will be our first fall at home again and I can’t wait. I really like that embroidery also. Can’t wait to see it finished.
