Sunburnt Quilts

Quilts, Patchwork & Embroidery

Pincushion Goose.

I have just completed the top for this fun little pincushion from Hatched and Patched. I didn’t have the wools to make it so decided instead to use felt. Still looks cute!

Blue Kaffe Fassett.

I have working on this quilt off and on for a few weeks now. The piecing was straight forward – a four patch, patterned white between blocks and single patch corner stones. I love the colours. Blue and white always looks fresh. For the centre part of the quilt I did straight line cross hatching. […]

A Quilt From A Class.

This quilt was made in a class with Jennifer Knol. A few friends attended the class together at Candleberry Country.  Natalie (Candleberry Country) put together a kit for each of us so we could have a wide range of fabrics. All the blocks are made from half square triangles then the blocks are arranged to […]

A Little Bit of Aus.

Just adding a little bit of Australiana to my post today. This koala is made from a pattern by Maxine Gallagher. There was a fair bit of work involved in this one, especially with the eyelids, fingers and toes. No, he doesn’t live in this lemon tree, but the sun was in the right spot at […]

Oranges and Lemons….

Okay, really just orange – the colour. This is the colour Robyn at Daisy Quilts has chosen for Colourful Fridays this week. Go over and check it out. Originally I thought it was going to be quite difficult to find anything around my home for this colour, but I was pleasantly surprised! This  cute little […]

Just Binding.

Nearly there. Just finishing the binding!

Eye ( I ) Spy.

I Spy quilts are lots of fun.  I like the idea of collecting lots of fun fabrics to use in them. Quite often they are fabrics that you cannot find a use for elsewhere but still want to collect. And sometimes they are left from other quilts you have made. I decided to make mine […]

Bow Tie.

I really like the sharing of ideas in all quilting groups and this quilt is one example of that. Our DIL attended a quilting class with some friends when she was in USA. She learnt the technique of making the 3D  bow ties. When she was back here in Aus she was able to teach […]

Seeing Stars.

I am trying to make 24 of these. Still not at the half way mark !

Green Friday.

I couldn’t resist any longer. I have been following the Colourful Friday posts for a while now on Fairchild Street and   Daisy Quilts, and now I have decided to join in. Please check in at Daisy Quilts for the other participants and see the green they have found. At the moment it is still […]
