A Top Completed.

After many months of cutting and juggling blocks, it is lovely to see this quilt top completed with all borders attached.
I have really struggled with photos over the last few days with the overcast and windy weather. Thankfully the frame stayed upright long enough to snap this pic.
I still am fascinated with the kaleidoscope process that created this quilt from just the one fabric. The border shows how the fabric looked before it was cut up into these little squares, then rearranged and sewn into blocks.
I am also pleased that there has been very little wastage. I barely have a fat quarter left.
Now to think about plans for quilting.
This is such a Spring quilt….great timing for your upcoming season!!!
All that work, Karen! I couldn’t have imagined how beautiful it could turn out! You must be so pleased! The kaleidoscope process is amazing.
Beautiful! Just beautiful!!
This is just wonderful. I now feel the need to make one of these. You are being an enabler. Thanks for sharing.
so pretty and the fabric is perfect… it’s amazing how many designed blocks have come out of it…. beautiful top…

Karen that is so clever, it looks like you have used lots of different fabric, what a fabulous idea, did you fussy cut the four squares the same and then sew them together? I love it! xx
It looks wonderful!! It’s such a clever technique to be able to get all those different blocks blocks out of the one fabric.
It really is pretty. How much fabric did you begin with? I have a friend making one and she started with 7 yards, but she is struggling with it because it’s the 6 block and the angle is tough for her. I will show yours to her, and see if she can be encouraged to try a square instead!

That is really an amazing effect. I was thought it was neat before you even mentioned it, but now I am REALLY intrigued!
wow Karen this is amazing,i love the effect also.xx
This is just a beautiful quilt, Karen. I, too, am amazed at the different looks in the blocks from the same fabric. You’ve done a great job with the framing of it, too. Can’t wait to see how you quilt it.
