I spent three days working at the Australian Quilt Convention this year in this wonderful World Heritage listed building.

Royal Exhibition Buildings, Carlton
It is a great venue for these exhibits.
There were many stunning quilts on display and if you want to see the finalists and the winner you can go the the official AQC site.
The winning quilt was amazing.
I took photos of a handful that I particularly liked. This Melbourne tram was a favourite.

Tram Route No 10, Sue de Vanny

Road To Lancefield, Beth and Trevor Reid
These next ones were part of the Living Colour challenge.

Leaf Life by Robyn Eves and Amaryllis by Sarah Ann Smith.

Just a handful for now. Love the gorgeous colours and the amazing stitching.

Hello Karen,
I bet you had an inspiring three days helping out at the convention in that stunning old building. If that was here in WA it would be pulled down and something new built there!!!
Thanks for sharing some of the wonderful quilts.
Happy days.
Bev.

Wow, that Melbourne tram quilt is really cool. Nothing inspires me more than seeing works of art like this! But hey, I thought it was your weekend to look for the airplane!!! ;-)
OMGosh!! What detail has gone into those quilts! They are awesome. Bet it was wonderful to see in the flesh…so to speak. Love the historical building too, what a stunner.
Cheers, Anita.
What a fun experience to help out with the show. You’re right about the building being beautiful. Fun quilts too. I’m looking forward to seeing the Loving Colour exhibition when it comes to Sydney.
