Stitching Away.

No finishes, but some steady progress on a couple of projects.

The ribbon trees are coming along quite well. After trialling a few fabrics I went back to basics and used a natural coloured linen for the background.

The perle embroidery thread shows up well on this.

I have finished the first one and now will move on to the next.

I have also been working on some Christmas stockings. The fabric has all been quilted in a simple cross hatch pattern, so now I need to make toes, heels and cuffs.

Only one has been cut to shape so far.

I hope to make more progress on these over the next few days. But the garden keeps calling, too.

    Hi Karen,
Seeing the different colours on the Christmas tree has inspired me to do the same thing using bits of Christmas fabric, not to mention you’ve sparked me off to do some stitchery!! lol. Anything will spark me off. Have a great day. Regards, Anita.

Your Christmas tree is so cute! It looks great on the natural linen – very beautiful! Cute stocking to be too. And yes, living in the tropics I know how often the garden calls these days. *Fortunate’ we haven’t had rain for quite some weeks so the weeds have more or less dried up. I’m not looking forward to the rainy season that starts soon! Wonderful weekend to you and yours!

  • Gorgeous pictures! You are starting to pull me into the holiday season!

I hope you dont mind but I think I might just “borrow” this tree of yours. It is so cool!
Mind you it might not happen this year, although there is still 7 weeks before the day arrives.
