And The Last Of The Snowmen.
Posted on December 24, 2010 | 2 Comments
No chance of snow here. We have a forecast of a lovely, sunny 28 degrees Celsius for the big day. Strangely, though, just over a week ago we did have snow in the mountains. You just never know what is around the corner!

These are just a few more of the Santas I have made over the years.
A Christmas Corner.

Just a little decorated corner. Most of the ornaments are hanging on a cane tree. The embroidery on the wall is Mill Hill. What a shame I didn’t hide the computer cable! The skittles are from Villa and Hut.
Some are made with bells.
Excited!

Just a little bit excited here! Well maybe a whole lot, really!!!!
I found out that I am the lucky winner of some beautifully stitched snowmen blocks from Pauline.
Pauline had them there as part of Sew, Mama, Sew’s give away day.
Please visit Pauline, QuiltnQueen, to have a look at her wonderful work.
I am just going to keep pinching myself to make sure this is real!
Thank you so much, Pauline.
Table Runners and a Mug Rug.

I have finished the last of my sewing to be used as gifts for Christmas.
These table runners are from Disa Designs.
The next photo is to show Robyn how much I am enjoying my gorgeous mug rug.
There’s a little friend in the pic as well! (Sorry the shot is a bit crooked- had trouble keeping the goanna still.)
Another big thank you to Robyn. I consider myself to be very lucky to have received such a generous gift!

Little Stockings and Circles.
Posted on December 17, 2010 | 3 Comments
I have managed to make nearly a dozen of these little stocking ornaments.. They were filled with chocolate bars and candy canes. All but one have now been given away. The stockings are based on a mixture of patterns from Rachel’s of Greenfield.
I have also managed to finish a few more of these circular felt decorations and have taken them to break up parties to give as gifts. Most are based on Marg Lowe’s pattern using buttons from Theodora Cleave. Some are variations of that pattern.
Reindeer Mischief.

I think the reindeer in this wall hanging look like they are ready to get into a bit of mischief. They do bring a smile to my face when I see them.
This is an older one of Santa and his friend.

Another of my collection of wall hangings from Cubby House Designs. (Same as the Deer Oh Deer pattern – told you they just keep coming!)
A lot of the pieces are fused to batting before being hand stitched. This raised the pieces to give a 3D effect.
The little bit of embroidery was done in back stitch using a variegated thread.
