Catching Up, Again!

I feel a bit like a stranger who has been gone too long. I know I have been busy, but hadn’t realised I had missed a whole month. Plenty of medical issues have kept me busy and none of them were mine. Lots of time has been spent in waiting rooms and next to hospital beds, and being a taxi driver. As a result, sewing has slowed, but knitting and embroidery have kept me company. So now it is time to catch up.
Meet my little cheer squad.

I had run out of my gift supply of knitted monkeys and koalas, so they were a perfect carry along project. There is one more koala waiting to be completed.
I reached a small milestone with my Sue Spargo quilt, Homegrown. The centre panel is now complete.

I have now manged to sew all the houses together and they are waiting for some work with an iron.
The only machine sewing was this small child’s quilt made in the style of the jelly roll race.

Many thanks to Nancy from Grace and Peace Quilting. Nancy gave me the measurements and directions to make the quilt this size – 40 X 50 inches. Greatly appreciated. I had admired hers for quite a while. What a great way to use up lots of left over strips.
The backing is a fine white pin dot on blue. And a striped binding.

It feels good to have caught up, just a little bit!
Mother’s Day weekend is coming up. Hope all the mothers have a lovely and special day.
Cheers, Karen
Your knitting and sewing looks amazing, I love the Homegrown center panel. So glad the medical issues were not your own.
Hello there, the time seems to run away with us especially when busy… hope health issues are sorted for everyone. I love your cheer squad as well as your latest block, so much work in each one … great little blue quilt – looks lovely and snuggly…

Sorry you’ve had to be on the medical accompaniment route. Knitting & hand stitching is the perfect way to pass time. And what a cute cheer gang you’ve put together, Karen! Congrats on getting your appliqué and embroidery centerpiece finished! And your jelly roll race quilt!!! It is so beautiful in all your light & bright blues!!! The striped binding sets it off so well!
lots of loveliness to see in your post.
Your Sue Spargo project looks amazing and I love the jelly roll quilt. Love all the co-ordinating blues!
hope all the medical issues have settled.
lots of loveliness in your post. I love the blue jelly roll quilt and the backing and binding complete it perfectly.
Your sue spargo centre is amazing!
Sorry to read you have sickness in your family. Those knitted toys are great, and will be well loved, I’m sure. I’ve long admired those jelly roll quilts which Nancy whips up so effortlessly, will have to remember this for next years RSC. Or maybe I can try one out this year. Although I’ve never done a belly roll quilt before.
Adorable little animals! The little quilt will make someone pretty happy.
