An October Update.

I sometimes think that when October begins we have a starter calling out Ready, Set, Go!. Everything gets busy all of a sudden. Lots of things are happening and there is always something to do.
The obvious one for us is Daylight Saving coming in. And Spring seems to have found its feet and the garden is booming. I really enjoy seeing the trees blossom.

The ground always looks like we have confetti everywhere.

With all that is happening it is easier to work on small items as well as UFOs.
This is a small embroidery of a flowering gum.

I have continued working on Home Grown (Sue Spargo). I have finished the second border. Nearly there!

Another embroidery. This one is from Helen Stubbings.

I have also worked on finishing some cards. These were a test run for Christmas.

The next cards are part of a Stampin”Up kit.

The next couple of embroideries are from a while back. Gail Pan ran a BOM in 2019. I had completed nearly all the parts, then for some reason, put it away. I realised I only needed to complete two more for the quilt top I wanted to make. So now they are done.

No excuse now. I need to put the quilt top together.
In between all these bits and pieces, we had a visitor.

This is a juvenile King Parrot. We often see then in the front garden and sometimes in the trees out the back. But we have never had one come into our pergola/patio area under cover. This one was very happy to check everything out, hopping from chair to chair.
When I was sending off the donation quilts I realised I hadn’t shown the pair of Noah quilts. Two made exactly the same way.

This photo shows both the front and back.
I think that’s all for now.
The garden is keeping me extra busy, so I am pleased to have these smaller projects to work on in between. And it helps get the UFO pile down.
Have a wonderful weekend. Cheers, Karen

You’ve been busy too, Karen. Embroidering, card making and quilts, all awesome. Beautiful embroidery, your Home Grown flowers are so pretty. Cutest little hedgehog. Trees have been blooming here too, I enjoy it every year. So far October has been cooler than usual, the heat and humidity will come this year too, I’m sure! lol
Love checking out what you have been up to Karen, so many sweet projects. Your hedgehog is delightful! Love all the details on ‘Home Grown’, what’s the size of that border (just to get perspective).
It’s always a pleasure to see what you are working on. I LoVe the blossoming tree… so pretty and yes SPRING has sprung…xox
It is lovely to see the trees greening up and the blossoms appearing. If only that wind weren’t so cold! All your stitching is impressive Karen! You are SO productive. The hedgehog is very sweet!
