ABOUT
Karen.
Gippsland, on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia.
For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in sewing. I thoroughly enjoy patchwork, quilting, embroidery and doll making. Scrapbooking sneaks in there sometimes, too.
I am recently retired and am enjoying spending more time with my family, friends and my crafts.
This site will give me the opportunity to keep a record of the things I love to make.

Snowies In A Basket.
Posted on | February 20, 2018 | 22 Comments
The felt theme has continued with a little finish – a small penny rug.
Such an easy one to make. As always I have added to the original design with some buttons and a bit more embroidery. Can’t help myself.
Now it is time to get back to some quilting.
Have a lovely week.
Cheers, Karen
What could be sweeter than snowmen in a basket?!!! Cute as a button!
Your penny rug is gorgeous, Karen. I love the blue.
Just adorable—love the happy colors and your sweet extras!
I haven’t seen a penny rug in forever! I love that you remember to create some of the “old” designs. They are just adorable with your buttons and embroidery.
Can’t wait to see what quilting you’ve got in mind.
that is adorable!
Absolutely precious! I love the background color! So bright and cheery!
Very lovely, I do like the unusual different shaped ‘pennies’ and clever additions you added to make it your own….
Hugz
Oh wow – gorgeous!! I love the extra touches you made :-)
It is so cute. I love snowmen
So cute!!! And of course it needs extra buttons!! I so admire your embroidery skills as it is something that I haven’t done much in over 35 years. However, my creative group is planning a handwork round robin and I am scared to death that I am going to mess up someone else’s work. I am having knee-replacement in a couple of weeks and am planning to spend part of my “sitting” time doing some practice stitches!!
Sew pretty!
Love the penny rug, and I love that you have added the little extra. So beautiful!
That turned out adorable. The little red buttons add the perfect touch and I like the white thread for the buttonhole stitching. It’s definitely wintery
Absolutely LOVE this gorgeous mat Karen
Oh how absolutely gorgeous! They are so very cute xx
ADORABLE!!! Great project to work on when the temps are roasting you!
Magical…
Gorgeous as always Karen! Those snowmen have such character in their little faces!
This is so happy ❤️❤️❤️
HOw cute! You’ll be all ready for Christmas early this year.
