Hexies And Rabbits.

No quilt pictures today – but I am in the middle of quilting another one!
Today is all about yarn and crochet hooks. I have two finished items.
The first is a small blanket – probably lap sized throw.
Lots of crocheted hexagons made first and then all crocheted together with white yarn. It took me ages because I still feel like a beginner, but I made it to the finish line. It is very warm and snugly so will be enjoyed in a month or two when the nights are cooler.
And the second item is a crocheted bunny. Not quite as simple asĀ I thought it would be, but again I took my time and was able to finish it. This one will be used as a baby gift.
There are dozens of things I would like to crochet, but at the speed I work, I will have to be selective.
Not a lot else, but I do have news of my quilt parcel. It arrived safe and sound at its destination. It only took five days from Australia to the USA. ( I know my Aussie friends will laugh at this because we can’t even get a letter from one suburb to the next in that time!). I ended up sending it standard post, with tracking and I insured it. So pleased to have it there safe and sound.
We are finally having some Autumn weather here to enjoy, but no signs of any Autumn leaves here yet.
Cheers, Karen
All those hexies remind me that I have a quilt that I started probably 35 years ago, that’s never been finished! LOL!!! Not sure if crocheting them together is faster than stitching. Cute little bunnie! So many projects we love…so little time. Why can’t be live forever! hahahaha
Gee that crochet is just so good…wish mine looked like that…super cute bunny….HAPPY EASTER xxxx
Both your crochet projects look marvelous, I really like the snuggly bunny! So glad your quilt made the journey across safely!

Ok…now I’ve just done a big catch up on your posts Karen…and my!!! you’ve been busy. I’m loving your hexi crocheting!! Love the colours, how awesome. The fabrics on your quilts!!!!! Love them. I have just noticed too…the grey pavers? with white mortar on your verandah?…did you put that down yourselves? I am a curious budgie. lol. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
I love the colors in the baby blanket. I haven’t thought about Crocheting in a long time. I am not good at knitting, but I might enjoy some crochet….. I am so glad that your package arrived!!

Hi Karen love those crochet hexies and your little bunny will make a great gift,I think you do a marvellous job,I hope to learn soon, and what good news to hear that the quilt has arrived to its new owners and how funny it only took five days.
Wow , you are a super star with the crochet hook!! Your blank is beautiful and that little bunny will be much loved.
Is there no end to your talent Karen! Love the blanket and the bunny! If you saw my efforts at crocheting you would not class yourself as a beginner! Yes, good old Australia post is a puzzle to us all. My templates for the new Jen Kingwell BOM were sent from Gardenvale on Friday and arrived today. I’m thinking I could have walked there and back in that time!
Your crocheted blanket looks very warm and snuggly. Those are such pretty colors and that white really helps them to stand out.
My favorite those is that precious bunny. There’s no doubt that some lucky baby will love it. Expect to see it in tatters from being dragged around and loved, but isn’t that the best compliment?
Well done with your crochet work – both projects are beautiful! I’ve often admired patterns like the bunny, thinking they would make a perfect baby gift and wondering how they were to make…! So wonderful to hear your parcel arrived safe and sound :-)
lovely crochet projects….. I manage squares for dishcloths so I think you work is very advanced! Bunny is too cute
