Sudoku Quilt.

Another week, another quilt. I am trying my best to catch up with UFOs.

I received this as a kit from the lovely ladies at Sewing Connection.

This quilt came together very easily, especially as I enjoy Sudoku puzzles.

The layout is based on the 9 by 9 Sudoku puzzle. There are nine 5 inch squares from nine different fabrics. Each block has a different arrangement of the fabrics in accordance with a Sudoku puzzle.

I was able to combine some fabric from my stash to create a pieced backing.

I quilted each block with a flower motif in the middle and the did echo quilting around it. I filled in the final space with pebbles. I did loops in the sashing.

The quilting may be easier to see from the back on this one.

I decided to do a simple flower with joining loops along the borders.

This turned out to be a lovely and bright quilt. It looks great over the top of a white bed cover.

We are still having warm days, thankfully not as hot as last week, and are receiving some rain. I am surprised that we are still picking strawberries and tomatoes so late in the season. But I am not complaining.

Cheers, Karen
