Christmas Quilt Show.
SewCalGal is kindly hosting a Christmas Quilt Show. This is a wonderful opportunity to see lots of Christmas quilts. Use the link above to check out all the entries in the show. I love all things Christmas so am really looking forward to seeing all the quilts. My quilt is from a design by Keryn […]
A Star Mistake!
A while back I mentioned that I needed to make quite a few more red and white stars for an internal border on a quilt. I started working on a few last week and managed to make some progress with ten more. After I had pressed them I went to put them with the other […]
Snowmen Progress.
I had time to put a couple of little borders around my favourite snowmen. Then I quilted the borders with loops and stars. Tonight I will sew on the binding.
Redwork and Stars.
In this quilt I have been able to combine some embroidery and some piecing. It started with the stitcheries. I had bought Wendy Briggs book Simply Red and was planning to stitch some of her designs. Melbourne Cup Day.
It is Melbourne Cup Day today and, YES, we do have a holiday for a horse race here! It would be appropriate to find something to do with horses and quilting. I do not have anything with horses on it. This is the closest I can get. Will it do as a substitute?
Blogger’s Quilt Festival for Amy’s Creative Side.
Amy, at Amy’s Creative Side, is hosting her fourth Blogger’s Quilt Festival. I have enjoyed looking at hundreds of quilts that have been entered in the past festivals and have been inspired by all those wonderful people. This time I have the opportunity to participate too, so am jumping in feet first. Here is my […]
Blue Kaffe Fassett.

Blue and white always looks fresh. For the centre part of the quilt I did straight line cross hatching. […]
A Quilt From A Class.
This quilt was made in a class with Jennifer Knol. A few friends attended the class together at Candleberry Country. Natalie (Candleberry Country) put together a kit for each of us so we could have a wide range of fabrics. All the blocks are made from half square triangles then the blocks are arranged to […]
Just Binding.
Nearly there. Just finishing the binding!
Eye ( I ) Spy.
I Spy quilts are lots of fun. I like the idea of collecting lots of fun fabrics to use in them. Quite often they are fabrics that you cannot find a use for elsewhere but still want to collect. And sometimes they are left from other quilts you have made. I decided to make mine […]
