I need to get back on the wagon and start posting a few entries on this blog.
No matter how much planning and work is done, there are always a few things that never quite get finished before Christmas.
This is an embroidery from a design by Christine Book. The idea is to sew it into a star shape and lighly stuff it for use as an ornament. Obviously The embroidery is done, but not the rest.
I managed to sew the back onto one of these button stars, but the other 3 are yet to be completed.
Sometimes there is only a little bit of work needed, but time dictates when they are finished.
Just a follow up to the flood post – there is a lot of support in blogland with many fundraising events. I found a very comprehensive list at
One of them caught my eye. Jan MacFadyen of Oz Comfort Quilts co-ordinated an amazing effort for the bush fires here in Victoria 2 years ago. She as continued to make donation quilts and has now thrown her support behind the relief effort in Queensland.
I know the floods have eased but they are not yet over. There is still a lot of floodwater in Qld and many towns are still isolated.
Floodwaters are moving down through NSW and evacuations are taking place. Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania have all experienced flash flooding and evacuations in the last 2 days. It’s still not over.
And it is not just us. We are also aware of the the terrible floods in Brazil and Sri Lanka. Mother nature is surely sending testing times.
