The hour glass blocks have been completed and put together.  Simple borders have been added and the result is a completed quilt top.

I had to battle with the grape vine for position on the fence.  As well as using fabrics from the Sleepytime range, I added some solids in matching pastels. It needs to wait to be quilted until I buy some white, rather than natural, coloured batting.

I have also completed a couple of smaller items, both for our Grandson. He loves playing with the tags on his toys, so these are perfect for him.

The giraffe pattern is from Craftin”It and can be found at this link.

The little square with all the tags is from Flying Blind On A Rocket Cycle and can be found at this link.

Both are super easy to make and are great little gifts.

your hourglass quilt is so soft an sweet, as are the made with love presents for your grandson! Isn’t it fun to watch the little guys zero in on the small details like a tag? He will get plenty of stimulation with the little blanket! Wonder if one color or texture will become a favorite ~

  • I love soft, sweet quilts. This one is no exception. The little giraffe with the ribbon tags is ADORABLE! Giraffe’s are so cool for babies to hang on to at the long neck. :)

    Hi Karen,
Love your tags and hourglasses quilt and I’m glad you won the fight with the grapevine too!! I had to laugh about your grandson loving the tags on his toys. When my boys were little they would often leave their brand new toys laying on the floor and play in the cardboard boxes the toys came in!! lol
    Cheers, Anita.

  • I LIKE your hourglasses, and that grandson quilt is just the cutest! Love the giraffe, too.

I love the low volume fabric choices on the baby quilt. And I, too, love making those taggie blankets for all the babies I know! They love them and the moms love throwing them in the diaper bag for a quick entertainment go-to when out and about!
