Parallel Lines.

This is the last of a group of quilts I had quilted one after the other. There are still 3 sandwiched and still waiting, but I wanted to stitch the binding and have a few finishes.
This is a pattern I have used before from Leanne Beasley’s book, Romancing The Road Trip. I first made it in a red and grey Christmas quilt (Aug 31st, 2013).
I used fabrics left over from another quilt – Kitchen Windows ( March 26th, 2014).
I chose to straight line quilt with a multi-coloured thread. I have a lot to learn with this in regards to where to place the lines and how to prevent puckering. But I have to start somewhere and am actually quite happy with the end result.
I had a fun fabric for the backing. Not quite enough so I added a matching green to provide the width. The leaves in this fabric remind
me of the children’s story The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
And it shows up the quilting quite well.
It was finished off with a bright blue binding.
This one definitely fits the description of bright and cheerful.
Hope your week is the same.
Cheers, Karen
Love your bright and cheerful quilt! Love the quilting and those gorgeous bright fabrics!
What a fun little quilt! Those fabrics are beautiful! I love that you gave them space to be themselves before boxing them in. I agree with Karen about the quilting. It doesn’t distract from the fun happening on the quilt.
What a happy quilt–the straight line quilting looks great on it!
Great use of those bright and cheery fabrics! The quilting looks great, and it’s finished!!!
It looks wonderful to me! You do good work!
Wonderful quilt!! I used the parallel line quilting a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the result.
A lovely bright quilt! And I like the effect of your straight line quilting, looks wonderful!
So bright and cheery, nice work!
You’ve been very busy Karen. All your quilts look wonderful.

What a happy quilt and great work.
Beautiful Karen. A gorgeous quilt and as above…..makes you feel happy xx
The weather is hardly bright and cheerful this morning but this certainly makes up for it! I get that puckering too but I put it down to either my poor basting skills or tension. It still causes me angst!
I love the looks of parallel lines on a quilt. What fun fabrics you put together too. Perfect combination!
Love this quilt. It is so beautiful and happy. Hope all is well with you!!
