This is the last of a group of quilts I had quilted one after the other. There are still 3 sandwiched and still waiting, but I wanted to stitch the binding and have a few finishes.

This is a pattern I have used before from Leanne Beasley’s book, Romancing The Road Trip. I first made it in a red and grey Christmas quilt (Aug 31st, 2013).

I used fabrics left over from another quilt – Kitchen Windows ( March 26th, 2014).

I chose to straight line quilt with a multi-coloured thread. I have a lot to learn with this in regards to where to place the lines and how to prevent puckering. But I have to start somewhere and am actually quite happy with the end result.

I had a fun fabric for the backing. Not quite enough so I added a matching green to provide the width. The leaves in this fabric remind

me of the children’s story The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

And it shows up the quilting quite well.

It was finished off with a bright blue binding.

This one definitely fits the description of bright and cheerful.

Hope your week is the same.

Cheers, Karen
