Sunburnt Quilts

Quilts, Patchwork & Embroidery

Welcome.

Another one of those found goodies! Finished! I just need to decide how to use it. This is a pattern provided by Leanne Beasley at one of the Glen Harrow stitching days. I am pleased that I am making a dent in the UFO pile.

Colourful Friday Favourites.

Colourful Fridays are back and this year they are happening every fortnight, giving more time to search for those special colours. Take a visit to Robyn at  Daisy Quilts to see all the lovely colours today. Why not join in! To start the year Robyn asked us to show our favourite colours. Oh dear! Where […]

A Very Loved Old Bear.

It’s Teddy Bear day with Melody over at The House On The Side Of The Hill. Visit to see the other bears and check out the pattern Melody is sharing. This is a truly well loved bear. My husband has had him since he was born, so this bear is 60 years old ( that’s […]

Australia Day.

Embroidered Hearts.

Over the past few weeks it has been a hive of activity in our house. We have been busy painting two bedrooms, cleaning carpets, decorating and setting up furniture. Mystery Quilt Day.

Earlier this week I attended a mystery quilt day. Lovely setting and very well organised. Great teacher. We had a cutting list prior to the day and arrived organised and ready to go. It was broken into 5 blocks. There were nine blocks in the centre. We started with the 4 Birds in the Air […]

Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

Late!! Fancy being late for a picnic! Sometimes computers and their programs do not want to do the right thing.  Never mind. We are here now. Melody, at The House On The Side of the Hill, is hosting a Teddy Bear’s Picnic each Thursday. I have made lots of teds over the years so thought […]

Needle-case.

This is a little needle case I made from a pattern by Mum’s Moments. Just the right amount of applique and embroidery. As I have been sorting through a few things I found that I had tucked this aside. Now it is back in use.

Spring Stitchery.

This only needed a little work to have it finished, but for some reason it disappeared off my radar. The stitching is now complete and I will take it to the framer when he returns in February. This is a pattern from Leanne Beasley at one of the workshops I attended.

Christmas Leftovers.

I need to get back on the wagon and start posting a few entries on this blog. No matter how much planning and work is done, there are always a few things that never quite get finished before Christmas. This is an embroidery from a design by Christine Book. The idea is to sew it […]
